Welcome to PRINTMIMIC. These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of our website located at www.printmimic.com and the 3D printing and manufacturing services provided by us (collectively, the “Service”).

By accessing or using our Service, or by uploading 3D files for quoting and manufacturing, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you disagree with any part of the terms, you may not access the Service.

1. The Service

PRINTMIMIC provides on-demand 3D printing and manufacturing services. We utilize user-uploaded digital files (e.g., .STL, .OBJ) to manufacture physical objects based on the specifications provided by the user.

2. User Content and Intellectual Property

A. Ownership You retain all intellectual property rights to the 3D designs and files you upload to PRINTMIMIC. We do not claim ownership of your content.

B. License to Manufacture By uploading your files, you grant PRINTMIMIC a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to use, copy, store, and modify (e.g., re-orienting for printing or adding support structures) your files solely for the purpose of producing your order and providing the Service.

C. Copyright and Infringement Warranty You warrant and represent that:

  • You own the files you upload, or you have the legal right/license to use them.

  • Your files do not infringe upon the intellectual property rights, privacy rights, or publicity rights of any third party.

  • Do not upload files downloaded from repositories (like Thingiverse, Printables, etc.) unless the license explicitly permits commercial reproduction or you are printing strictly for personal use as permitted by the license.

3. Content Policy and Restrictions

We reserve the right to refuse to print any content for any reason. Specifically, PRINTMIMIC strictly prohibits the uploading or ordering of:

  • Weapons: Firearms, firearm parts (receivers, sears, silencers, etc.), ammunition, knives, or any device designed to inflict bodily harm.

  • Illegal Items: Items that are illegal to possess, manufacture, or sell in your jurisdiction or ours.

  • Obscene Material: Sexually explicit content or content promoting hate speech, violence, or discrimination.

If we identify a file that violates this policy, we will cancel the order, refund the payment (minus any processing fees), and, if required by law, report the content to relevant authorities.

4. Manufacturing Standards and Tolerances

A. “As Is” Nature of 3D Printing 3D printing is a manufacturing process that builds parts layer-by-layer. By using our service, you acknowledge that:

  • Layer Lines: Visible layer lines are a normal characteristic of 3D printed parts (especially FDM/FFF) and are not considered a defect.

  • Support Marks: Parts may require support structures during printing. While we remove these, small marks or rough spots may remain on the surface.

  • Tolerances: We strive for high precision, but we do not guarantee strict engineering tolerances unless explicitly agreed upon in a custom contract. Minor dimensional variations may occur.

B. Material Properties Materials (PLA, PETG, ABS, Resin, etc.) have different thermal and mechanical properties. You are responsible for selecting the material appropriate for your specific use case. PRINTMIMIC is not responsible for parts that fail due to improper material selection for the intended environment (e.g., PLA warping in a hot car).

5. Orders, Pricing, and Payments

  • Quotes: Automated quotes generated on the website are estimates based on volume and material. We reserve the right to amend a quote if the file is found to be unprintable or requires significant manual repair.

  • Cancellations: Because our services are custom and on-demand, you may only cancel an order before the printing process has begun. Once production has started, the order cannot be cancelled.

6. Returns and Refunds

A. No Returns for “Change of Mind” Due to the custom nature of the products, we do not accept returns if you simply change your mind or if the part does not fit your specific application due to a design error in your uploaded file.

B. Defective Items If you receive a product that is broken, structurally defective, or significantly differs from the file you provided (beyond normal manufacturing tolerances), please contact us within 5 days of delivery.

  • We may ask for photos of the defect.

  • If the error is deemed to be our fault, we will offer a reprint free of charge. Refunds are provided only at our sole discretion.

7. Limitation of Liability

Important: To the fullest extent permitted by law, PRINTMIMIC shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including without limitation, loss of profits, data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses, resulting from:

  • Your access to or use of or inability to use the Service.

  • Any conduct or content of any third party on the Service.

  • Product Failure: Any injury, damage, or loss caused by the failure of a 3D printed part. You acknowledge that 3D printed parts should not be used in critical safety applications, life-support systems, or high-stress environments where failure could result in injury or death.

8. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless PRINTMIMIC and its licensee and licensors, and their employees, contractors, agents, officers, and directors, from and against any and all claims, damages, obligations, losses, liabilities, costs or debt, and expenses (including but not limited to attorney’s fees), resulting from or arising out of:

  • Your use and access of the Service.

  • Your violation of any third-party right, including without limitation any copyright, property, or privacy right (e.g., if you upload a Disney character and we get sued, you agree to cover our legal costs).

9. Shipping and Risk of Loss

All items purchased from PRINTMIMIC are made pursuant to a shipment contract. This means that the risk of loss and title for such items pass to you upon our delivery to the carrier (FedEx, UPS, USPS, etc.).

10. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed and construed in accordance with the laws of NY, USA, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
